Abstract
Dear readers and contributors,
Welcome to the first issue of the Journal of Turkish Science Education for 2011 (Volume 8). It is very encouraging to note that while most of the authors are from Turkey, five other nations are represented amongst the contributors giving this issue a very international flavour. This issue contains a total of ten articles that are extremely diverse in nature. Taber has provided an article on students’ misconceptions which comments on a recent study conducted in Turkey. Hassan and Pudin, writing in the context of Sabah, Malaysia, report on the value practices of informal environmental education among adults. This is followed by an article from Portugal by Carvalho et al. about perceptions of teacher practices.
